The Weavers were said to be the first inhabitants of Earth, the mysterious race who created it before the humans' existence. They were given the very powers and elements of the planet. As the humans came to exist, the four generations began to blend into society, or left, to be forgotten until the 1600s-- where events thought to be ancient would build into war.
